The Canterbury Rugby Football Union (CRFU) is one of New Zealand’s most recognised sporting organisations, with a proud history of delivering rugby, connections and experiences at all levels – from grassroots to the professional game. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of rugby in Canterbury.

The Role

As Chief Financial Officer you will be responsible for providing best practice financial management and accurate financial reporting systems, including managing the information technology requirements for the organisation.  This is a once in a generation role, helping shape the future of Canterbury Rugby as we enter our new home at One NZ Stadium at Te Kaha.

As part of the Canterbury Rugby Executive team you will also provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure the Union’s ongoing financial health, while also contributing to wider organisational strategy and decision-making.

About you

Key to success for this role will be your ability to maintain financial reporting, systems, policies and standards, audit management as well as providing leadership for the organisation’s high performing Finance team, with two direct reports.

You will have a minimum 3 years’ experience as a proven and successful CA qualified Manager, proven leadership and strategic experience and extremely high attention to detail.
